Research Interests:

Yasmin’s research focuses on exploring school integration experiences among newcomer youth in Metro Vancouver with the goal of informing culturally responsive practice in school and community settings. She combines arts-based and ethnographic methodologies with critical and social justice theoretical orientations to highlight and engage the voices and lived experiences of newcomer youth.
