Simon Lisaingo (MA)

Simon Lisaingo (MA) grew up in Port Moody, B.C.  He completed a B.Sc. degree in Genetics and a B.Ed. in Middle Years education at UBC.  While teaching in rural Yukon, he discovered an interest in how the field of psychology could be better applied to the classroom.  He pursued this academic interest while living and working in Ottawa.  Returning to UBC to study School Psychology, he hopes to utilize his experiences in the classroom to better inform his new path.  He is interested in studying how students overcome challenges they face at school and at home.  As a school psychologist, he hopes to help bridge the gap between the practice of education and the research in psychology.  When not at school or at work, he can be found on the soccer field or in the great outdoors.
