Rhonda Geres-Smith (MA)

Rhonda Geres-Smith (MA) is originally from Saskatchewan were she obtained her first degree, a BEd from the University of Regina, and taught school for eight years. Eventually, Rhonda moved with her family to British Columbia where she completed a MEd in curriculum development at the University of Victoria before continuing her teaching career in BC. She returned to the University of Victoria and completed a BA (honours) in psychology and is currently completing the second year of her MA in School Psychology at UBC. She feels that the best thing about studying school psychology at UBC is the supportive, collaborative atmosphere of the program and the fact that it emphasizes both research and professional practice. Rhonda has strong research interests in the area of literacy, particularly in writing intervention for struggling students; additionally, she is interested in student anxiety, stress, and teacher/student relationships.
