Jaime Semchuk (MEd)

Jaime Semchuk (MEd) grew up in the town of La Salle, Manitoba. She completed her Bachelors degree in Psychology at Canadian Mennonite University in Winnipeg, MB and is excited to be starting the graduate program in School Psychology at UBC. Though she moved to Vancouver only recently, she can’t believe how at home she feels already, and largely attributes this to the incredible community atmosphere fostered by the faculty and other students in the program. Jaime’s background includes working with at-risk youth in an emergency shelter. She has also worked with adolescents and adults with intellectual disabilities in both a direct support role, and in assisting with the provision of Psychology services as a Behaviour Technician. She is eager to gain new skills and knowledge that will allow her to continue working with youth, and positively support their academic, social, and emotional development. Jaime loves how visually striking the city of Vancouver is. She continues to be blown away by the fact that she gets to see the coast and mountains every day, and is determined to spend as much time outdoors exploring as possible.
