External reviewers are visiting our department February 4th – 6th, as per the Senate Policy on Reviews of Administrative Units and the Board of Governors Policy 22.
The major goal of an external review of an academic unit is to provide the unit with an opportunity to reflect on its programs, operations and performance and obtain external advice to guide continuing improvement of academic and operational quality. According to the University’s “Principles, Procedures and Guidelines for External Academic Unit Reviews” (March 1, 2013), reviews are normally conducted every five years and may be occasioned by other circumstances including the completion of the term of office of a Head/Director.
