David Kealy, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Psychotherapy Program at the Department of Psychiatry, University of British Columbia. In addition to research David teaches, supervises, and maintains a private practice in psychotherapy.

Scholarly Interests:
David conducts research on psychotherapy and personality- and identity-related difficulties as well as mental health concerns among young adults, men, and individuals with adverse childhood experiences. A particular focus is the personalization of psychotherapy to address the specific goals, concerns, and needs of each individual.
Theoretical Orientation:
David is informed by and seeks to inform contemporary psychodynamic and integrative relational theories, including control-mastery, self psychology, and object relations theories.
