About Cross-Professional Collaborations in Health Education Scholarship (CPCHES) Initiative

CPCHES aims to enhance our collective capacity to advance research, scholarship, and practice in HPE, and to foster a culture of collaboration across the health disciplines at UBC.

In 2014, HPE scholars from across UBC came together at two CPCHES events to talk about the key issues in HPE. So far, a number of themes have been identified.

  • Professionalism and professional identity
  • Safe and effective learning environments and communities of practice, emotionally and physically healthy students (including successful transitions and student experience)
  • Assessment and learning, assessment from admission to practice, assessment and learning outcomes/competencies
  • Integration
  • Curriculum, teaching/learning practices
  • Continuing professional development, continuing professional education
  • Education and research practice in HPE: knowledge mobilization/translation
  • Learners as caregivers – “beyond knowledge” and care as a focus
  • Safety, social justice, patient and professional diversity
  • Context and culture in HPE
  • Program issues – health education processes, silos in health education and practice
  • Supporting inter-professional collaboration (including in student practice settings)

You might be interested in one or more of these, or you can bring your own ideas to this event!
