
Ph.D. Student
Hira is a second-year Ph.D. student in the School and Applied Child Psychology (SACP) program at the University of British Columbia (UBC), which is located on the traditional, unceded, and stolen lands of the xwməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil- Waututh) Nations. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Arts in SACP at UBC as well. Over the years, she has worked and volunteered in a variety of settings (e.g., private clinics, schools, and homes) to support children and families under different hats. She is currently a practicum student at ABLE Developmental Clinic, where she provides psychoeducational assessments and therapy. Her research interests include social and emotional learning, mental health, and neurodiversity. Hira has been apart of the CCSJ team since 2023. This year, she is excited to be one of the committee’s Co-Chairs to support the committee’s vision for the program.
