2016 UBC Killam Research Prize Awarded to Dr. Bruno Zumbo

UBC Killam Research Prizes recognize outstanding research and scholarly contributions from both junior and senior scholars. Winners were selected by UBC’s Faculty Research Award Committee, which spans arts and humanities, applied science, science, and medicine.

Dr. Bruno Zumbo has been awarded the 2016 UBC Killam Research Prize in the Senior Scholar, Arts & Humanities category. Up to ten prizes in the amount of $5,000 each are awarded annually to full-time faculty members in recognition of outstanding research and scholarly contributions.

In response to receiving the award:

It is inspiring to receive an award like this. For me research and teaching go hand in hand, one shaping and informing the other; therefore, this Killam Research Prize will proudly be displayed next to my Killam Teaching Award from 2011/2012. I wish to thank the nominators within UBC and the referees for their time, energy, and care. I share this recognition with my research collaborators as well as current and former graduate students from whom I learn every day, and who make my scholarly life full and rich.

~ Bruno Zumbo, Ph.D.

The Office of the Vice President Research & International will celebrate awardees at the reception scheduled on April 5, 2017.
