Bruno Zumbo, Distinguished University Scholar at UBC

ECPS is proud to announce that Dr. Bruno Zumbo has been appointed as Distinguished University Scholar (DUS) at the University of British Columbia.

The appointment of Distinguished University Scholar (DUS) at UBC  is made to a select group of exceptional members of faculty at the University who have distinguished themselves as scholars in research and/or teaching and learning. The designation is conferred by the President on the recommendation of a review panel chaired by the VP Research. DUS awardees receive an annual salary stipend of $20,000 and a one-time research allowance of $20,000. The appointment is a five-year term, renewable once.

“It is inspiring to receive an award like this. For me research and teaching go hand in hand, one shaping and informing the other; therefore, this Killam Research Prize and now the Distinguished University Scholar recognition will proudly be displayed next to my Killam Teaching Award from 2011/2012 and earlier teaching awards. I wish to thank the nominators within UBC and the referees for their time, energy, and care. I share this recognition with my research collaborators as well as current and former graduate students from whom I learn every day, and who make my scholarly life full and rich.”
