On March 14, 2015 the College of Education at the University on Illinois presented the Distinguished Alumni Award to Dr. Shelley Hymel.
Shelley completed her doctorate in 1982 and served as a faculty member in developmental psychology at the University of Waterloo before coming to UBC. She has accomplished a great deal during her time within ECPS in the Faculty of Education, including establishing a master’s degree program and teacher training specializations in social-emotional learning, as well as holding the Lando Professorship in Social-Emotional Learning.
