ECPS Department Orientation 4:30 - 5:00 p.m. MacLeod 254 (2356 Main Mall) Welcome to ECPS! Find out how to effectively navigate your graduate school experiences, including an introduction to:

  • Department Administrators, Faculty and Staff, and Graduate Academic Assistants
  • Ideas for immersing yourself in the department culture(s) and engaging in collaboration(s)
  • Suggestions for following your curiosity and linking with ongoing communication
GAA Student Orientation 5:00 - 5:20 p.m. MacLeod 254 (2356 Main Mall) No profs, no staff, just open student dialogue! Facilitated by the Graduate Student Council of the Faculty of Education (GSFE) and Program Area GAAs, this is your chance to speak frankly with senior graduate students about anything to do with your program.
ECPS Welcome (Back) BBQ 5:20 - 6:30 p.m. West Side of Scarfe Office Block
All students, both new and returning, are invited to join us for our annual ECPS Welcome (Back) BBQ, hosted by ECPS faculty and staff. BBQ located on the lawn and parking area on the west side of the Scarfe Office Block (the back garden, facing Psychology's Kenny Building). Burgers (vegetarian and beef), hot dogs, and drinks will be provided and faculty members will contribute additional “potluck” food items (veggies, fruit, desserts).

From B.C. Ferries Terminals

Tsawwassen

  • From the B.C. Ferries terminal in Tsawwassen, take bus #620 to Ladner Exchange and transfer to bus #601 Vancouver; take bus #601 Vancouver until Granville St. at Broadway, and transfer to either bus #17 UBC or #99 UBC (in peak hours, bus #601 may be scheduled as a direct route from the Tsawwassen Terminal to Downtown)

Horseshoe Bay

  • From the B.C. Ferries terminal in Horseshoe Bay, take bus #257 Vancouver Express to downtown Vancouver, and transfer to either bus #4 UBC or bus #17 UBC on Granville St.

By Car or Carpool / Vanpool
