Barbara Weber (ECPS, UBC) and Susan Gardner (Philosophy, Capilano University), together as the directors of the Vancouver Institute of Philosophy for Children (VIPC), are hosting a BC conference on the “philosophical community of inquiry with children” at UBC.
Their goal is to create a British Columbia network/organization/hub of individuals and organizations who are interested in infusing engaged philosophical inquiry into pre-university classrooms. The conference will be on May 3rd, from 1 to 4 pm in Scarfe 310. All faculty and graduate students who would like to know more about doing philosophy with pre-university students and about this inquiry-based teaching method are welcome to attend the conference.
