The Masculinities and Men’s Depression and Suicide Network – otherwise referred to as MD&S-net. Comprising 15 researchers across four provinces and dedicated to implementing and formally evaluating five projects to advance the mental health of Canadian men and their families. MD&S-Net will deliver the five projects over three years and the team has strong linkages to community collaborators which bodes well for delivering on their innovative knowledge dissemination plans.
Project 4 CNPS: includes pilot-testing of a community based men’s program – group intervention, the program will be administered to two sub-groups: (1) college/university age men and (2) men who have prostate cancer. By evaluating the transferability of the VTP program to these non-military sub-groups of men, program principles will be distilled to maximize the effectiveness of the intervention.
Total Award: $2,950,093.
Project Leaders: Marv Westwood (CNPS) & David Kuhl (Family Practice)
