We are pleased to announce that ECPS and Dr. Barbara Weber will host Dr. Walter Kohan as an International Research Visiting Fellow (IRVF) beginning in September. Dr. Kohan is an esteemed full professor of Philosophy of Education within the Department of Childhood Studies at State University of Rio de Janeiro. During his residency at UBC, Dr. Kohan will engage in high quality collaborative and innovative research within the Faculty of Education. The IRVF program is designed to act as a catalyst for subsequent collaborative research with UBC researchers beyond the time of their stay at the university.
In addition to contributing through research, Dr. Kohan will be giving a number of workshops and presentations regarding Philosophy of Childhood, Thinking in Education, and Philosophical Inquiry in Teacher Education; dates are to be confirmed.
