A Theatre Presentation of the Lived Experience of Returning Veterans Following Tours of Duty

Drs. Marvin Westwood and George Belliveau, along with two veteran performers, present the film debut of the Contact! Unload! theatre performance. A question and answer session will follow the emotional film.
Contact! Unload! highlights the stories of veterans returning home from deployment who have since gone through the Veterans Transition Program.
This theatre production emerged from drama-based workshops led by group counselling researchers for military veterans. The collective process involved various community members including theatre educators. Contact! Unload! has become an expressive vehicle for military men to publicly reinterpret their struggles and experiences of transitioning from active service overseas to civilian life in ways that build resilience.
