In 2018, Bruno D. Zumbo, Professor and Distinguished University Scholar at the University of British Columbia, was honored with the distinction Pioneer in Quality of Life Research by the International Society for Quality of Life Studies (ISQOLS) for having made substantial contributions to measurement and research methodology impacting on the field of Quality of Life Research. As part of the recognition, a paper written by a group of scholars surveying Professor Zumbo’s impact on the field, and honoring his achievements, will be published in a forthcoming issue of the international journal “Applied Research in Quality of Life”.
The ISQOLS Pioneers distinction is designed to honor exemplars of research and service to the field of quality of life. By honoring pioneers of research, ISQOLS hopes to inspire future quality of life researchers who may learn from the myriad career pathways modelled by our “pioneers” and trailblazers.
