Kim’s career path as a researcher has been influenced by a concept that is thousands of years old.
“Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” ~ Aristotle
This concept inspired more than two decades of research, based on what she took away from this idea: Education should include a focus on not just academic achievement, but things like empathy, compassion, well-being, and mental health.
Throughout the 30 minute presentation, one senses the enthusiasm that Dr. Schonert-Reichl has about her emerging research. Lingering questions remain, though this forms an interesting path for her future research ventures.
