Heather Baker (PhD Candidate)

Heather Baker is originally from Ear Falls, Ontario.  She has a B.A. (Hons) from the University of Manitoba and an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from UBC. She enjoys hiking on Vancouver trails and exploring different parts of the city. Heather wants to be a school psychologist so she is able to provide mental health and educational services to a diverse range of children and families.  She hopes to become a clinical-researcher in community-based mental health centre or hospital when she graduates with her Ph.D.  Heather’s research interests are in internalizing disorders and the effects that specific anxiety-related behaviours have on the maintenance of anxiety disorders in both adolescents and adults. She is currently completing her pre-doctoral internship at the University of Illinois.
