Indian Council of Cultural Relationships Senior Research Fellowship Awardee, Dr. Robinder Bedi

Dr. Robinder (Rob) Bedi has been awarded a Senior Research Fellowship from the Indian Council of Cultural Relationships. The Indian Council for Cultural Relations is a Government of India organization. Its objectives are to actively participate in the formulation and implementation of policies and programmes pertaining to India’s external cultural relations; to foster and strengthen cultural relations and mutual understanding between India and other countries; to promote cultural exchanges with other countries and people; and to develop relations with nations.

This worldwide competition grants senior fellowship to eminent scholars that specialize in India studies in the fields of cultural and social sciences, with proven academic credentials and an established body of published works.

Dr. Bedi has been awarded a fellowship of up to 1.8 million Indian rupees (about $40,000 CDN, including airfare travel) to conduct research while residing in India. He will be travelling to India in April 2016 and again in April 2017 for one semester each trip. The research project is entitled, “Incorporating Indian Cultural Traditions into Counselling Individuals of Indian descent: Both in India and Abroad.”
